Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Rumley attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. During the years between 1974 and 1979, he obtained his residency training in general surgery at the University of Florida in Gainsville. Following residency, he joined the University of Florida faculty, where he remained an Associate Professor of Surgery until 1986, at which time he decided to further specialize in Plastic Surgery and moved to the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Following his plastic surgery training, he then moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he joined the combined faculties of Johns Hopkins University and The University of Maryland for the following three years in the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He left the University in September, 1991 and established his private practice of Plastic Surgery in Gadsden. Dr. Rumley has privileges at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Riverview Regional Medical Center and Healthsouth Gadsden Surgery Center. Dr. Rumley is board certified in both general and plastic surgery. Additionally, he maintains active memberships in both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Rumley is recognized for his honesty, compassion, and expertise. He has been voted best Plastic Surgeon for many years in a row by the Gadsden Times.
