Meet Dr. Rumley
Dr. Rumley has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been certified by the American Board of General Surgery. Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Rumley received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Rumley completed his general surgery residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, and became the Director of Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Chief of General Surgery at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He went on to complete his plastic surgery residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Upon completion of his training, Dr. Rumley joined the combined faculties of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland as Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for three years. In 1991, Dr. Rumley established his private practice of Plastic Surgery in Gadsden, Alabama. Dr. Rumley has privileges at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Riverview Regional Medical Center, and Jacksonville Medical Center. Dr. Rumley received the Lester R. Dragstedt Physician-Scientist Award and Citation for Outstanding Service to Disabled Veterans and their families. Dr. Rumley has also received many research grant awards and his work has been published in several medical journals. He holds active membership in the American Society of Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons, Alabama Society, and Physicians Who Care of Etowah County.
Dr. Rumley is recognized for his honesty, compassion, expertise, and attention to detail. He has been voted best Plastic Surgery for many years in a row by the readers of the Gadsden Times.
